BRANDON OH, PGA
Coach Brandon, PGA, moved to Temecula from Seoul, South Korea, in 2011, with the dream of becoming a professional golf coach. Since then, he has taken significant steps to gain qualifications and has taught both junior and adult golfers in the area. As of March 2020, he was teaching 80 regular junior golfers every weekend at Journey, with over 100 more on the waitlist. In 2018, he also opened the first TrackMan indoor golf performance facility in the heart of Temecula, providing technology-based swing analysis and a learning environment that is unaffected by the extreme weather conditions in the region.
However, while dedicated to his work and studies, Brandon was diagnosed with Cerebellar Ataxia in 2021. This condition primarily affects his balance while walking, causes double vision, and brings about other health issues. Despite his long-standing commitment to healthy living, he was not able to avoid this hereditary condition. There is currently no treatment available for Cerebellar Ataxia, and the symptoms have progressively worsened. To manage the situation, he focuses on maintaining healthy eating habits, exercising, and working with local golfers to slow the progression of the symptoms. He continues to face emotional challenges as he grapples with this new reality. Many families who have worked with him for a long time may have noticed changes in his physical condition and personality. He appears different now and walks with more difficulty compared to before 2021. Consequently, he has gradually had to reduce his teaching hours.
Despite these challenges, Brandon remains committed to helping amateur golfers improve their skills, fueled by his passion, experience, and knowledge. He is grateful to the families who have chosen him for their golf journeys and enjoys watching young golfers grow and develop their talents. A dedicated father of two daughters, Brandon considers Temecula his second hometown. In his free time, he loves classic music, playing the piano, carom billiards, and gardening.
